I started this project with my clothing brand in mind. I plan to release a spring collection soon. I wanted my visual to represent the spring season by literally displaying a spring. I used the pen tool to curve my lines into the shape of a spring that leads up the word "spring" which is bouncing onto the spring. I chose the colors yellow and green and used the Curlz MT font to add more energy to the word.

The concept of spring is refreshing energy. The season puts a bounce in the step of all walks of life. My spring design is a play on words because the word spring is connected to an actual spring that generates a fun bounce. The curly font blends well with the curves of the spring. The word spring is landing on the spring to create an ongoing effect and keep the viewer within the theme, spring.

  1. I like this design. I love the play on words. I especially like the diagonal that cuts through the spring image. Very clever! I also enjoy the wide yellow on the "S" and then repeated in the "i" more subtlety and even lesser in the other letters. Nice way to play with scale. I only wonder if the background were, perhaps, maybe a very, very pale pink or violet, if that might complete the color palette? However, the design is very smart and conveys the message.

  2. I like your idea here, I wonder if you could get rid of the diagonal line that is created with the yellow color that seems to cut thru the spring?

  3. It is really good. I barely have any critique for this design. Maybe a small suggestion of playing more with the negative space. Like try different background, (striped or checkered, green and gray)

  4. The way the font mixes with the spring shape is really cool. It was a nice idea. I think the yellow fill on the spring definitely should be deleted though- I didn't know what it was at first when I saw that. The curlyness of everything is great though.

  6. Corey,

The idea and design work well together. The visual is great and conveyed well. I would only suggest maybe removing the fill in the actual spring image. It works either way I think.

  11. Great concept and good use of colors. I think adding background color and foreground color would help it feel complete.
