Project 1 (B)

I started this project with my three words, these were just the first three words that I came up with when we were asked to take a card. To put the project into action I started with the last tools we had been taught. I selected Google images that I thought represented those words and their opposites and placed them into my art board. After that I created Clipping Masks clipping the images to the shape of the letters. I made some of the letters using the pencil tool, some with preset fonts, and some with the shapes tool uniting the multiple shapes.

The idea behind this piece is entirely based on the three words, and their opposite, I’m not sure that it directly represents me, but I enjoyed working on it none the less.

  1. The use of clipping masks works really well here. I like how all the letters are a bit different from each other and they each convey a little bit of yourself. As for the opposite- it looks quite a bit similar to your first one, just black and white. I would probably have tried to make them look as different as possible- someone could probably put them together instead of thinking of them as opposites.

  2. I like this. They do look similar to each other but the color makes them different. Good job!

  4. I like the masking in the first one. I especially like the way you inserted the "s" in the second one like a proofreader. Very clever. However, I feel like the designs are not complete, I wishing for more . . .

  6. This is honestly my favorite name designs. I like how much thought you put into it and, at the same time, how simple in resolution the designs are. The only problem here is a picture frame. Placing both words into the same file creates a need to arrange them in a composition which would make sense. Separating them into two files would work.

  7. I love it and the spelling "error" and the second word was really creative. But i would say your Y's are too similar.
