Logos

For this assignment, we were supposed to create four original logos, appropriate for four different demographic categories.

For the first category, (Girls, ages 9-13) I picked a clothes store and named it FairyTale. It’s colorful, but already not too childish, as if I would use different colors for each letter, I was trying to make it more as an age transitioning design. For women, ages 40-49, income of $100,000-$124,999, I picked a skin care products line, named Golden Lily. Here I decided to use curly and elegant fonts. For men, age: under 25, income of $25,000-$49,999, my product of choice was an online phone and computer applications store, TechPro. because cells and computers are playing very important role in lives of young generation. Men, age: 70 plus, income of $50,000-$74,999 got an alcoholic beverage (I’m thinking it is either a brand of whiskey or vodka – something strong,) Royal Crown. I know it might be weird to advertise alcohol at this age, BUT. The amount of their income indicates that those are people who either own their own small company, or have a good position in one. They are most likely still quite energetic, and attend business related gatherings.

The most difficult part of this assignment was generating ideas, because I had to take into account not only aesthetic looks of the logos, but also functionality, think about how those logos might attract audience of the stated demographic category. After my ideas were sketched, I picked four logos I liked the most and transferred them into an illustrator file. I used shape tools and Pen tool to create the graphic parts of the logos, them I picked fonts, appropriate for my designs. Most of the fonts needed to be readjusted, so I made outlines, turning the text into vector shapes. Turning them into vector shapes also solved the problem of school computers not having the fonts I used at home.

  1. Over all well done, I think the child and young man logos are spot on. I guess after an advertising launch, women would know golden lily. As for the last one you may have a problem with Crown Royal as far as the name. Being these are fake may I offer changing the name to Old Crow. Good job!

    1. Old Crow wouldn't work with this design, because "W" is suppose to represent a crown. Still, I see where are you going from.

  2. I agree with Craig. Both Tech Pro & Fairytale are great designs and fit the individual demographics. Very clever using that graphic as the "P". Reminiscent of our earlier letter forms project. I like the way you dealt with the Royal Crown brand. Love that red W. But I also have a problem with the name not being original. However, I do not agree with the suggestion of "Old Crow". Really Craig??? LOL Now, I would not object to "Royal Crow". At least it leaves the old guy with a little dignity. As far as the Golden Lily goes . . . you had me right up until those last three letters. They seem messy, conveying the opposite message. Simple solution though, choose a different script font. Overall, very enjoyable to look at.

  3. The style of each logo fits perfectly with their product and age group but ass a tip keep the font variety to a minimum. Usually dont use more than two types of font because it can be distracting and cause confusion.

  4. Looking clean. My favorite is the Royal Crown logo. I like the movement of the W in the logo. It also makes me thirsty as my adult beverage of choice is actually Crown Royal, I'm from Canada Eh. My least fav is the TechPro, its still great but I didn't really get the P as the comment bubble until I read it in your intro. But overall very clean and nice color schemes.

  5. Overall good job on the logos, however I had a bit of a problem figuring out the Tech Pro one until I read the info. Afterwards, it makes sense and looks good. I'd say to try and link the speech bubble more to the letters might help in the confusion.

  6. All four of these are very clean and well done. I like how in all of them you create a logo within the company name. The fairy tale one is my favorite for sure looks spot on for something that young girls would love. All four are awesome!

  8. Really like your logos. I'll have to make Tech Pro my favorite. It seems like it would be somewhere at a mall!

  9. Nice work, the girls logo is very nice. I find the crown logo a little hard to read, the 'O' looks a little too square and solid, I would suggest putting something in the center or erasing a little bit of it to help it read better as an 'O.'

  10. These are all great logos especially Tech Pro. I would change the black letters to match the colors of the other letter for the designs on the left. The Royal Crown logo looks awesome and so bold I would drink it!

  11. Tech Ro looks like a tech support place. i haven't read the description yet but if thats what you were going for then great. Fairy Tale seems well suited for teen girls. Good job on that. Both golden lily and royal crown remind me of Golden Coral Buffet. Lol

  12. A portfolio that has greater quality work when contrasted with amount is the one which ought to be considered. Numerous logo originators, with the aim of inspiring the imminent manager will feature a portfolio with a thousand logo plans that he professes to have done, anyway these might be of low quality. Likewise, you may locate some great work done in patches exchanging with low quality work. This example shows that the creator is anything but a predictable entertainer. On the off chance that is ideal to avoid such people. logo design service
