Project 1B: Opposites

So the part B of this project was a neat project.  I wish I chose easier words to describe myself on that card. However, once I got going on it it was a lot of fun.  First image I used 3 different photos from Google. I put them in PS and arranged them as I seen fit.  I removed some backgrounds and once I had them fit in my Masking area, I vectorized the images using Image Trace.  Hi Fidelity photo was the setting.  I chose a large flowing font as my mask area.  The second image was made using the star tool, fills and opacity fills.  I change the stars and arranged them in my font area.  This font is more erratic with jagged edges and the loud colors and sharpness I think contrast my original image.

  1. I don't really understand the composition for the one on the right. I know it's supposed to convey the opposite of the words you picked for yourself, but even looking at the list for ways maybe it would be the opposite of some of the words- I don't really understand. I think it just needs a bit more of a composition plan instead of just shapes and clipping masks. They're both nice to look at, and they're definitely opposites, I just don't understand how the right one is the opposite of YOU.

  2. So by looking at this I can sort of tell what you're into. I like how you were able to fit all those characters. Kind of hard to read but it's cool!

  3. I find the first image hard to read, I think a darker background might have helped the lettering pop a bit more. I like the tools you used tho and the kind of "grunge" effect applied on the right!

  4. I really enjoy looking at the first image. The separate images flow together and make a nice composition in the font. The second one is great too! The only thing is that it seems your representing that you dislike things that I enjoy:(

  5. I like the second "CHANCEY" better than the first one. I'm having a hard time reading your name in the first one because the imagery is a little overwhelming. I like the second one because of the color scheme & the pointy edges. Seems like it would hurt your hand if you picked it up. :D

  6. The second chancey looks cool with all the sharp points and edges with those colors it makes for a nice composition! I think the first one would be easier to read it you just put a little stroke around the text it will help it pop a little more. nice work!

  9. The first word is really difficult to read. I would either change the font, or add stroke to the letters. The second one looks great tho. I also really like how you placed both words in the same picture frame, dividing them with a line.
